Product Description
By curious coincidence the fortunes of both Fairhavens, a Montana resort and retreat center near Yellowstone Park, and Colac Bay Inn, a bed and breakfast on the south shore of New Zealand become intertwined, dramatically affecting the lives of two people a world apart. The one is a young Montana clergyman, who flees to New Zealand after losing both his congregation and his wife. The other is the woman who owns the inn in New Zealand in which the young man from Montana becomes a guest. While the inn on Colac Bay faces financial bankruptcy, the future of the Montana resort is seriously threatened by the proposed development of a glitzy theme park nearby. As these problems become resolved the lives of the Montanan and the New Zealander are drawn together through a surprising set of circumstances.

This book is definitely a "Don't put me down until you're finished." Krebill has created a refreshing plot and done a great job of tying together his knowledge of geography and life in two areas half a world apart. The book is written from a practical Christian perspective and can be appreciated by both clergy and lay people. It portrays the struggles which face young pastors as they seek to "fit into" the societies in which they find themselves. At the same time, there is a wonderful intercontinental romance and one wonders how it will be resolved. This, in addition to several well-developed sub-plots, keep the reader wondering what will happen next. Minor flaws in editing, which seem to be present in most current publications, certainly do not detract from the story. I have known the author and his wife since we were college classmates and am proud to present this first review of the book on this site.
