Foundation of the Astrological Chart
Rating (5)
Date: 2006-05-13
From book's Introduction:
"This work is designed for use as a textbook is setting up a chart for the exact location of the planets for any given date, hour and place on earth. It also goes further, to include progressing the chart to show the advanced positions at any desired future date.
Because many students are not conveniently close to a school of astrology, and also because many want this type of specialized reference long after they have completed their mathematical training, this work is so arranged that it can be learned entirely at home and may be referred to throughout the following years when the mathematical need may arise.
At the end of each lesson, the pupil should turn to the examination questions covering each lesson, at the back of the book, and try to give the answers, so that any point not sufficiently clear may be gone over once more. Repetition at this time will establish the principles at the outset and in their proper order, making the way cler for the next step.
The student will need an Ephemera (a booklet which is issued for each year, giving the Sidereal Time and the planet places for each day): a logarithm card saving much calculating: a Table of Houses (list of Signs on cusps) and a pierced template for drawing the wheel as on page 2 herein. It is desirable to also posses Dernay's Longitudes and Latitudes in the United States and his Longitudes and Latitudes Throughout the World, which include the Difference in Time, and the Equivalent Greenwich Mean Time already figured for the pupil."
