A Must Have For Anyone!

I learned of this band when I saw them open for John Fogerty in the summer of 2004. I was completely blown away by their music. Right after their set, I went and bought this CD and will never regret it. Almost everything on this album is good. The best tracks are definitely "Beautiful Disaster", "Easy", "Honky Tonk Union", "West Texas Moon", "Tell Yer Momma", & "Never Thought". If you're into country/rock, or even pop/rock bands like the Gin Blossoms, then you'll probably love this band. Why they haven't made the big time is a mystery to me. They're awesome!

If your not sure which Roger Clyne album to get, this is the one. Emotional highlights from happy to sad, rock 'n roll to rockabilly - this one has it all. 10/11 songs are classics!

Sublime. They set out to create a new sound, a sound for Arizona, and ended up creating a masterpiece. From more rock-oriented pieces like "Beautiful Disaster" to bluesy-country tunes like "City Girls" to the heartbreaking and genre-busting love sone "Green and Dumb," it is perfection. I can't think of the last time I've enjoyed an album so much, and their live show is even better (if that is possible).

If you don't own this album, you are missing a treasure.

Thank God: Roger's still making music

I loved the Refeshments. One of the best bands I've ever heard, and when they went away I was disappointed. I'd rate their first CD, Fizzy Fuzzy Big and Buzzy as an all time classic. It's a the drinkinest, most fun CD, Jimmy Buffet for people in or stuck in their 20s and 30s. This CD heads a little into the country side of rock, but not horribly so. It's definitely not Nashville, more alt-country if that. Mostly it's just rock. This is about the only band that I will travel to see play (3 states so far, www.rogerclyne.net). I'm not even a concert person, but this band live is unbelievable, if you don't have a good time at one of their shows, it's more a reflection on YOU than them. High lights of this CD are Easy, Beautiful Disaster, Tell Yer Momma, and Never Thought. I've bought this CD probably 4 times as gifts, you should buy it as a gift to yourself.

Roger Clyne: Get Back to The Refreshments!

Frontman Roger Clyne made 2 really good cds with his band, The Refreshments. Then he started making music with Roger Clyne and the Peacemakers... WHY? I can name about 6 songs from both Refreshment cds that are goddamn cool but the only song from all 4 Peacemaker cds is a number called "Tell yer Momma." Why is that? Roger -like Paul Westerberg of The Replacements- needs to realize that he does not define ... rock & roll on his own, BUT needs his buddies to fill-in the empty parts. I'll still buy Westerberg and Clyne cds... but these guys ought to know that they can be so much better when they combine their talents.
